Identity Orchestration and Decisioning: Use Cases

Identity orchestration and decisioning is finally crossing the chasm, but a cloud of confusion still surrounds what it truly means. For small government bodies and industry organizations, navigating the complexities of identity verification is crucial to providing essential services.

Whenever a new technology enters the market, you must ask, Why? One of the best ways to determine the usefulness of a technology is to look at where it can add value. Use cases are an insightful way to look at the benefits of a technology and its application in the real world.

Use case one: Connecting the real-world and digital using Vouching

Technology and people often face barriers. From a distrust in online processes to disabilities not being accommodated, to a lack of access to technology, and minimal digital footprints. All of these barriers can hinder a person’s ability to register for services and, in turn, prevent those services from benefiting a whole cohort of customers.

This is one way that orchestration and decisioning add flexibility, inclusivity, and security to a service.

Orchestration with decisioning connects the real and digital worlds when used to generate Vouching-as-a-Service (VaaS).

VaaS is an innovative approach to verification and onboarding that prioritizes inclusivity and accessibility. Using VaaS, an organization can thoughtfully address the diverse challenges individuals face in our increasingly digital society.

Vouching-as-a-Service in Action

Take the example of a government or industry body, such as a local council or healthcare trust.

The organization must register individuals so that it can provide them with essential services. During registration, they must verify the individual’s identity. However, the demographic is broad, and there are many reasons why online verification fails for people, including distrust of online verification as a process, disabilities, lack of a smartphone, no fixed abode, limited or no digital footprint, and many other reasons. Not everyone can engage in online verification.

The solution is orchestration-generated Vouching-as-a-Service (VaaS).

Vouching is an enhancement of digital systems that helps individuals register for online services, even if they find online digital verification challenging.

Vouching provides an alternative way to engage with people and allows them access to online services without the barrier that online verification checks can often present.

In other words, VaaS can provide organizations with ways to be more inclusive and address the challenges of digital life experienced by various groups in society. At the same time, the organization benefits from capturing a demographic that its competitors may struggle to register.

Vouching has many applications, adding depth and breadth to a service that would otherwise exclude a cohort of customers and clients.

In our next use case, we’ll look at the extension of vouching to a service that requires proof of funds.
